Liane Vogele, LMHC
I became a psychotherapist to help people reclaim their lives, find hope in despair, and challenge the stigma around mental health.
From the beginning, I focus on creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and respect.
My style is interactive and engaging, providing supportive but direct feedback throughout the process. I look to the patient to identify a focus or starting point for each session, empowering the patient to readily discuss problems that are of most concern as each session begins. I emphasize evaluating patterns and dynamics among people and their relationships, while providing education on the interaction between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I use metaphors, symbolism, and humor to facilitate learning. In the well of unpleasant emotions and tears, there is also a lot of laughter in therapy.
“I slept and dreamt that life was joy. I awoke and saw that life was service. I acted and behold, service was joy.”
—Rabindranath Tagore
“Conversation is a beautiful thing … sharing experience ... When people get (to) talking about how they've overcome something or how they haven't, it's nourishing.”
— Marc Maron
